Course description: Examines the commercial and alternative news media, how news organizations face political bias and pressures to ‘filter.’ Extensive treatment as well of the pervasiveness of propaganda techniques employed within and outside the news media, including the ‘fake news’ phenomenon, and alternative, non-commercial news models.
